Lately, I've noticed that my screen captures have decreased quite visibly in quality, losing many details in the photo, and having mediocre color. How do I fix this? I have tried closing programs, but this doesn't seem to help!

Thanks,
Jeremy

Hi orbj,

What are you taking screen shots of? Is it just the desktop, or running programs? Are you sure it's not your photo viewer program? If you're using Preview, there might be a setting you can fiddle with. If it's iPhoto, try the color adjustment functions.

Also, try taking shots of different things, just to make sure it's not one particular catalyst. First, take a picture of just your desktop, nothing running. Then one of your web browser on the Google search page. Then search for any picture on the web, as long as it's bright, bring it to full screen and take a shot. Then run iPhoto, set its background to black and take a picture.

After you've taken all these shots, open them side-by-side and see if they're all deteriorated, or only certain ones.

Let me know how this test turns out.

Sincerely,
Vishad
