Having become aware of the hidden rotate feature available under system preferences/dispays, I am curious as to whether the display can be flipped, i.e everything appears inverted or back to front.
Again, I have submitted this query to the forum, but would appreciate any help.

Hi markhill,
I know the Display options lets you mirror your monitor to another, but I'm not aware of any "flip" mode. I don't think your System Preferences actually has the capability to make things inverted. The only things it WILL let you do is either make two monitors mirror each other, or run two monitors as one large desktop.

Hmmm!
How about scripting the Preview Apps horizontal flip function. How likely a scenario is that?
One would just need a boolean flag to test the current flip status and proceed from there.

Sure, you could go through Preview if you wanted to do that. But you wouldn't get "real time" images. You'd actually have to take screenshots and invert them through Preview or any other photo editing software.
I have no idea about the flag test. You could try it and see what happens.
Sincerely,
