Knowledge Level: I'm New!
Problem: Hardware
Computer Type: Radius (Mac) / APS drive
Model: 81/110 / 2gig external
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: Ram Doubler 2.x
OS Version: MacOS 8

Description:
I have an external drive which will boot off the Radius only when set on SCSI ID 2. Anthing else, and the machine refuses to come up and gives me a sad Mac. I have switched cables, checked ID (Ihave an internal drive set at 0 and a CD at 3), have proper termination, etc. I can hook other drives with other IDs and everything comes up fine. But change the APS drive and nothing.
However, the APS is fine on any ID number on other machines!!! The only problem is with the Radius (which of course is ok with other ID #s with other drives.)
I've talked to APS and they feel the drive is fine, and it must be a problem with the Radius. I've run some diagnostics on the machine (TechTools Pro, Norton) and everthing comes up fine.
Also, I'm not able to see the APS on the Radius with SCSI Probe. Everything else shows, and the APS shows up when hooked to other machines.
I'm frustrated. Any ideas?? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

As you stated it is probably something peculiar to the Radius. For example, if you use an Iomega Zip Drive, you can only use SCSI 5 or 6....

As long as it works on SCSI 2, why is this a problem to you?

You might try Silverlining Lite vs SCSI Probe to try and mount it off another SCSI ID.
