Hi,
I am using the new iBook G4 14". When I plug in a separate display, it just mirrors the display from the lcd. is it possible to "expand" the desktop to the second monitor or possible just use the separate monitor at a higher resolution?
thanks.
Hi Dj -
Unlike the powerbook series, AFAIK the iBook only provides 'mirroring' with the external display by default. However, there is an open firmware hack to allow you to extend your desktop instead. Apparently an AppleScript is also available to enable this for you, but since both methods come with a warning about voiding your warranty, I'll point you to the site where I found this:
iBook multiple display hack
A link for the AppleScript is available on that page also. I hope this helps.
