Description:
I recently upgraded to Mac OS 8.5 - my problem is with Sherlock. Everytime I try to search the internet, I get an error message something like "There is a problem with your network connection. Please check your network connections and try again".
I'm not on a network, it's a stand alone home computer. My internet connection works fine, I can browse and pick up email. I tried Sherlock while connected and while unconnected - same message. Appletalk is off...any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi Daniel and welcome to No Wonder!
There have been a few reported problems with Sherlock...go to this page
http://www.macfixit.com/reports/macos8.5.shtml#OS and scroll down to the Troubleshooting Sherlock heading and read what it says.
This page includes suggestions for getting Sherlock to function correctly.
SurfExpress seems to be the main cause of problems.
Cheers
