I have problems with Sherlock. I saw on the forum that I needed to remove a file so I could get the original channels back. I did this but also have problems with foreign languages comming up with the channels. How can I reset all of the original information.

This is currently a problem that Apple has not fixed but they are aware of it. Currently, Apple Engineers are working on the problem so anything we do now will only be a temporary fix until the update is released (unfortunately, it's unsure as to whether this will be fixed in 10.4.3 or later).

Saying that, the temporary fix is to do the following.

Open up your Macintosh HD. Then open the users folder, followed by your username's folder (house icon). Then open the Library folder then the Caches folder. From there, drag the Sherlock folder into the trash (all this is done while sherlock is closed). Once you do that, empty the trash and try to reload sherlock.

Again, this is currently a temporary fix and it may re-appear within 10 minutes of doing this.

If the temporary fix didn't even work, you can try removing the entire Caches folder. Also, going into the Macintosh HD/users/username/Library/Preferences/ and removing any com.apple.sherlock.plist files may help.

Other than that, at this point there isn't anything else you can do.

You could try to create a new user and, if it works there; to migrate to that user. Or an archive & install without perserving users & network settings would probably work but you'd have to re-setup your user and it will most likely be a temporary fix.

I'm sure that isn't an answer you wanted to hear but an update from Apple (either 10.4.3 or later) will fix this.

Hope that helps!
