I am running Tiger 10.4.3 on a G4. I was monkeying around with Sherlock and deleted all the channels, etc.--including the toolbar! I have tried to trash the preferences, log out/log in, etc., but nothing has changed. So, 2 questions:
1. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
2. Can I reinstall just Sherlock?
Thank you for your help. I am a first-time visiter.
This should fix Sherlock for you:
Open your User folder, and open the Library. Open the Caches folder. Open the Sherlock folder. Open the WebFoundation folder, and trash all the files that you find in that folder. Close that folder, and click on it so it's highlighted. then press Apple-i, which will get an info window for the WebFoundation folder. Put a check in the Locked box that you see there, then close that window, and any other windows that look ready to be closed

Go back into your User folder, reopen the Library, and open the Preferences folder (sorry, I forgot this!) Delete the Sherlock folder, if there is one, and also delete the com.apple.sherlock.plist file.
Logout, and log back in. try Sherlock, (It will be a little delay while the toolbar/channels rebuild, but just be patient!)
Your Sherlock should be working again...

Thank you, Dale, whoever you are and wherever you sit infront of your Mac. Your advice worked. Not the first time--I may have overlooked something--but when I tried it again. Fab. Thanks again.
