Description:
We have an LC630 set up in an office where there is some form of magnetic or electrical interference resulting from the main line from the transfer to the panel running in the floor and up behind the desk. This caused unacceptable levels of screen waver and wowing with the Apple Multiscan 15" that came with the computer. We noticed the laptops weren't affected, and so tried a number of other monitors. An apple 14" colour monitor and an older Performa 14" monitor both had the same problems, but an old 12" RGB I had a home ran completely stable.
We've tried shielding the office with sheets of tin on the floor (no luck) and unfortunately there is no other place for the computer (the interference seems to occur within about 8' on either side of the line where the cable runs). Any suggestions on what old or new 14" or 15" monitors might have the same technology/shielding as the RGB monitor, or, better yet, any suggestions for shielding solutions that are not prohibitively expensive (as I'd rather tackled the source, not the symptom)?

Three things...
First off... It's probably not interference, but bad power. Get a really good power conditioner or spike bar. Furman or Tripp Lite make good ones.
The other thing you can do is find a profeesion cable supply store and get some sheilding for your cable. It just slips ove the cable and you have to ground it somehow.
Last, look into getting your monitor degaussed. You can have it done at your mac repair or any monitor/TV reapair place. Also, move any sort of speaker/radio/stereo away from the monitor.
Good luck.
