Description:
When I download a text or am sent a file, once I have saved it to my hard disk I cannot open it offline without getting the message that the file is too large to be opened with Simple Text. I have increased the memory for Simple Text to 17000. I have also unstuffed the files with DropStuff and Stuffit. Still get the same message that the document is too large to be opened by SimpleText. Any ideas? I've got 10 texts from a genealogy newsletter I subscribe to by e-mail waiting to be opened. Thanks, Diana

Hi Diana,

SimpleText has a limit of 32k, anything over that you will have to open with another word processing program such as ClarisWorks or BBEdit. I usually use BBEdit Lite. It's free and can handle these larger files.

All you need to do is open up your word processing application and go to the file menu and choose open and navigate to the file you want to read.

Thank you for choosing No Wonder!
