i'm not sure if my powerbook is compatable with sims 2. what i'm not sure about are the video card ati and nvidia and memory. is this information in system profile and if so where? (pci/agp cards?)

Yes, all the information you will need should be viewable in the System Profiler, although some of it may be cryptic, particularly the exact video card.
Now, you list a PowerBook G4 15". Unfortunately, there have been a bazillion different versions of the 15" PB G4 so based on what you've provided I couldn't tell if your system fell within the system requirements. What you can do is download a program called Aspyr Game Agent. It is an application which contains a list of all of the games Aspyr Media has ported to the Mac platform and will tell you if your system meets what they consider the minimum and recommended requirements for each of their games. You can download it from their website:
