I have the G4 ibook. I have made a fabulous slideshow on iphoto. I would like to burn it onto a VCD. I have exported it out of Iphoto as a quicktime player movie and do not know how to turn it into a VCD. Will Toast 7 solve this problem? If so, how do i complete the task?

Short answer, yes. I'm not sure about now, but a year or so ago when I wanted to burn a VCD I couldn't find anything else that could do it for free, so I bought Toast. Works great, and even gives you the option of making it SVCD (super-vcd, half the time, but more quality). It's really easy to burn anything with toast, pretty much self explanatory. So it probably is your best option for VCD burning.

Or, if you don't care about music or transitions, you can make a slideshow on a CD that most DVD players with play by simply burning the .jpg files to a data CD-R.

I want to add the music and I like the way it looks in Iphoto. Do I need to buy the fancy Toast with Jam or will the regular toast program work.

The regular Toast program is all you need. If you want to save even more money, see if you can find someone selling a copy of Toast 6, which is what I have, and it still works awesome for VCDs (and just about everything else, too. I think most of the differences between Toast 6 and 7 have to deal with the DVD burning part of the program.
