Hello,

I have a Sony Clie TJ27 that I've been using on my pc. I want to start using it on my Powerbook, G4. I've downloaded the updated PalmOne software, 4.2.1, and am connected by the usb port. I have the correct user name selected, but still can't get the hot sync to recognize the handheld.

Please help. It would be great to transfer all my info over.

Thanks for your time.

Dave

Clie's do not sync as transparently as do other Palm OS devices. Some of those meeded help from a third party conduit. You can find information about that here:

Also, not all the necessary files get installed when you install a downloaded version of the desktop software. I found this out when I installed the latest desktop after doing a clean install of Tiger. I had to install from an actual CD that came with my Palm device before I could sync. That could be a contributing factor in your case.

I think the problem with the Clie's was the memory stick modules. Sony did not support the use of Clie's with Macs, and as a result you couldn't sybc anything stored on the memory sticks or something to that effect. It's been a couple of years, but that was the reason why a got a Palm Tungsten instead of a CLie.

The Markspace product allegedly takes care of that issue.

I hope this helps.
