I have a new Pentax Optio A30.
On the camera you can attach sound files to the pictures.
When you import into IPhoto, only the pictures arrive there.
I can download the soundfiles manually by opening the camera symbol on the desktop and by dragging the files on the desktop. I can play those files in ITunes.
Problem is that the files are in no way connected anymore to their original pictures.
Is there any way to fix that?
Looks to me that apple is pretty behind with IPhoto...
thanks for any help

Tarika,
You can add music or sound files to your pictures. First, put the sound file in iTunes and then create a playlist for the slideshow in iTunes.
In iPhoto create a slide show with the image (s) you want.
You can select the playlist in your slideshow Music settings in iPhoto. If the playlists don't display, look for the tiny little dot (dimple) above the middle of the box with the song list. Drag the dot down to reveal your iTunes playlists.

thanx chery, I have arrived there already, and that does not solve the problem of knowing which soundfile belongs to which picture, and also I would not want to create a diashow for every picture, and if i would create a diashow for all pictures with sound files, I could not choose the sound files while playing and would have to wait it out to get to a certain picture and soundfile.
I wonder if you actually understood that the soundfiles are actually being recorded on the camera and are attached to a picture on the camera, and I am looking for a way to import them like that.

Tarika,
How long is the sound file for one image? Usually, when a camera records sound with picture, it is a movie, how ever small. You can import that into iMovie. Then the sound and picture are together.
iPhoto will automatically open to import the images when you attach your camera. You can then either quit iPhoto without doing the import or cancel the import, hide the application, then open iMovie to do the import.

Dear Cheryl, the soundfile is however long you choose it to be. Maybe you are not familiar with latest technologies from digital cameras.
Is somebody else out there who understands the problem and can think of a solution?

Tarika,
You are correct in that I have not looked at the newest digital cameras. However, I know that iPhoto is behind in that technology as well as it only imports images and not sound files.
I will reopen this ticket so that hopefully there is a tech that knows a work around.
