I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro which uses OS X version 10.4.5.

I cannot get the computer to recognise my SpeedTouch USB 330 modem which I use to connect to Virgin Broadband.

Previously I had been using an iBook G4 with OS X 10.3.9 and had had no problem.

I have tried downloading an upgrade from the SpeedTouch website (which is supposed to work with OS X 10.4) and installing it but this has not worked.

Is my MacBook simply not compatible with modem? In which case, will I need to change my ISP?

Thanks very much in advance for any assistance- I am a total amateur!

I have a 17" Macbook Pro running on a D-Link and Linksys combination without incident. The USB modem you have is another matter though so I would contact either or both manufacturers (Apple - Speedtouch) and discuss the problem. Sorry, but these new systems are out there on there own on many issues like yours. I closed my lid with a DVD in it and Photoshop running today....opened it to a black screen and kernal panic...something I have not seen in a long time!
