Hi there.
I am trying to make a doc with two spot colors (a blue and grey), but I want the type to have the beveled look using the type effects. Is it possible, or should I just use the cyan and black channels and have them run out only those plates?
Thanks in advance!
Dave

PS- I am pretty savvy so you can get technical!

I'd run the cyan and black colors and let your printer know which C or K is which PMS color. You could make each color its own layer and then save three files. 1. the entire file as you want it to look 2. PMS 1 only 3. PMS 2 only.

Make sure you import these two files into an InDesign layout with registration marks so it's easier for the printer to line up your pantone plates together. Do you have black lines around the PMS colors for your logo? Include those in a 3rd plate file.

By the way, can you create the logo in Illustrator with the same effect? Might make this easier. And by all means call your printer and find out what they prefer. They might even do this process for you since they know best how they like things set up.
