Description:
A couple of questions about StartupScreens...

Can u have a startupscreen cover your entire screen? (640 x 480) if not, what is the maximum size in pixels?
Can u use a picture from your picture clipping scrapbook?
What program would be the best to create your own screen?
What format should u save it as?
and last but not least, how do you do it?

a bunch of (probably) simple questions, but i would really appreciate it

Craig....

the size of the startup screen is dependent upon the size of the artwork. The smaller the artwork, the less pixels there are to go across the screen for a clear picture.

So try and use a large photo and play with various sizes until you find something that's good for you.

Download a graphic utility such as GraphicConverter 3.1 from http://www.download.com or AOL...and open the graphic, and it will let you save it in Startup Screen format.

Just make sure that the name of the file is simply STARTUPSCREEN. Don't worry about renaming the old one that came with your system. If you want to delete the new one, the old one comes back automatically.

If you are using scanner software, you should be able to save in one of these two formats.

If you are using a preexisting piece of art work, you can download a shareware program such as GraphicCoverter 3.1, open the file up, and then do a SAVE AS and select either PICT or TIFF.

All you do to make your startup screen active, is to name it StartupScreen
