Knowledge Level: Expert but stumped

Problem: No Problem
Computer Type: Apple
Model: Performa 6290CD
RAM: 48meg
RAM Enhancer: Ram Doubler 2.x
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
I have a Performa 6290CD. Is there any way (via sound cards, software etc.) that I can record stereo sound with my system ? I have searched and searched and the only card I've found is (or maybe not) something called "Pro Audio Spectrum 16" that may or may not work with my system. Although even if it does I can find no place to buy it anyway. I do have the 'Apple Video System' card and that does have 'left' and 'right' audio inputs however it seems that I still can only record in mono. Any help ?

Hi Clyde,

(This is only a guess as I don't have access to any of my reference books at the moment.)

I would think that your problem with mono sound recording stems from a software problem or defect.

Since I don't have the hardware, Apple video player won't run on my mac; but I would think that somewhere in its settings or in the control panel settings, there must be an option to choose stereo input.
