Computer Type: Apple
Model: Performa 6400/200
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
Using Quicken 98 started to write checks like normal and I got the following reply: unable to add string to the dictionay, then next window says: unable to complete transaction. I have used the program for several years and have never had this problem. I recently (about a month ago) upgraded to OS 8.1 but wrote several checks prior to this message. Please help me. Thank you for this useful service and I enjoy your magazine.

Dear Randy,

I don't know Quicken but to me it appears that some file linked to this application has reached overload. Since you seem to know the application quite well, perhaps you should find a way to free it from some data you don't need anymore.

Perhaps, to be on the safe side, you could reinstall Quicken. Of course, the files you saved previously and the preferences won't be lost.

Regards,

Alessandro
