Hi, I purchased Stuffit Deluxe and am having an issue with the compression. I am fairly new to a mac so I might just be doing something wrong. When I drag the file to the box to compress, it zips the file fine, save the zipped file but then the mg's hardly change. So a file that is 50 mg's is only compressing down to 48 mg's. What am I doing wrong?!

You won't always end up with a 'stuffed' file that is significantly smaller. In some cases, the stuffed file might be larger than the original!
Some types files, such as music files, are often already compressed in some way. A text file might get considerable compression. So, your results will vary depending on the type of files that you use...
You should check in the settings for Stuffit Deluxe - there may be advanced settings that will give you more compression
Stuffit's main purpose is to create a single file for downloads, rather than a folder with lots of files inside. Some file types will result in a significant reduction, others will not. You will see similar results if you choose to Archive a folder on your Mac, which is done natively by OS X, without using StDeluxe.

Or, you can check with Smith-Micro, Stuffit's developers/sellers, for other support info.
