I'm sure you could use Automator (and AppleScript) to construct a means to frequently import your most recent messages into Mail. But why?

Why not just switch from using Entourage to using Mail, Address Book, iCal, etc.?

Hi Thanks for reply,
Well, I like entourage for other reasons, I sync my palm to it. Can I sync my palm to Mail, Address Book, iCal, etc.?

Also, I have 4 Mac computers and I want them to sync to each other. 2 are G4's with Tiger on them, an emac which so far will not install Tiger and a power book G4 titanium (400 mhz) which I understand will not take Tiger cause it must be at least 500 Mhz.

Q=my Emac that will not take Tiger. (I keep getting a message 3/4 of the way thru the installation that there are errors. I did a disk repair and all was repaired but installation still came up with errors.

Can you help with any of these?

Does Entourage handle your Palm "categories"? If so, I guess you'd prefer to stick with it. If not, you'll get the same treatment from the Apple applications, outside of probably more user-friendly experiences. But yes, you can sync your Palm to Mail, Address Book, and iCal. Apple distributes conduits for all of them, for use in iSync.

Not sure about the eMac. Does it have a SuperDrive? Be sure to install the recently distributed firmware update for eMac SuperDrives. Otherwise, what kind of installation are you trying to run? (upgrade, archive, or erase).

Your PowerBook will take Tiger just fine. There is no speed requirement of the OS; only that the computer carry built-in FireWire.

Hi, Yes, it does handle the categories.
you suggested; "I'm sure you could use Automator (and AppleScript) to construct a means to frequently import your most recent messages into Mail." know how I would do this? duh. I'm a DTP just really learning how to do more sophisticated stuff.

Not a superdrive but it does have a combodrive. I was trying to run an upgrade.

I will try loading to my powerbook when I get home.

•Thanks, JJ ;-) (a gal)

The scripts would be somewhat complex, I imagine, to control the import of mail from Entourage to Mail. I don't have time to try to figure it out, outside of cluing you that scripting System Events is necessary.

Back to the eMac, I suggest trying an Archive & Install instead.
