Hi Suzy, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
Try increasing the memory for your browser. To do this, open the Application folder, highlight the Application icon, got to File menu, down to Get info. In this window you can increase the preferred memory. I keep my browser set to 18,000k.
