Is there some majic keystroke that will let me block select one or two columns of numbers from a tble in TextEdit?
Alternatively, can you suggest a Text Editor that will do the job?
Thanks......billyboy

Hi Billyboy :-)
I'm not certain of a magic keystroke but when I need to "select" more then one block of text or numbers in columns in Text Edit, I hold down and drag to highlight the text or numbers and hold down the Shift key at the same time. Then keep holding down the Shift key to "select" more then one block.
Check out this link for a great text editor for Macs:

Sure doesn't work for me. Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I want to select one vertical column out of the table, leaving all of the other columns unselected.
Even if I hold down the shift key while dragging, the shaded area always scoots over to the right side of the page when I move down below the first line.
I'll check out your Mac editor suggestion.
Thanks....billyboy

Ok... try this. Select text or numbers in a vertical column. Now, to select text or numbers BELOW in the same column press Command. See if that does the trick.

Sure thing......That suggestion works!
A bit tedious for long columns bt at least it works.
Many thanks, and give yourself a raise.
