Hi-

When I use Safari or Firefox, I notice they're taking up a lot of memory and tend to slow down every once and a while. Does anyone have any tips for improving performance of those apps?

Thanks!

I know this does not exactly address your question, but it's still my recommendation: Rather than making adjustments to your various apps, why not pay attention to the whole system?

Your Mac and OS X dynamically allocates memory. If you still have only 512MB, then you will find a lot of help simply by upgrading the memory. Most 'xperts' here share the opinion that 1GB is the bare minimum for smooth, stable performance in OS X, especially as you get higher up in the updates for Tiger. and Leopard will probably like even more.
I like to say "there is no downside to adding more memory"!

Why do you think Apple provides 2GB in _all_ current MacBook Pros?
