When I install Leopard to my present system, will I still be able to use my old AppleWorks documents?

Barbhelm:

Hope we didn't take to long to get back to you...

I have a post you can read up on over at apple.

As far as i am aware YES it looks like there have been some success stories on running Apple works on Leopard.

All the best,

Okay, CaribbeanOS-X, what you are saying is that my old appleworks documents (including clarisworks) will work on Leopard. Right? Your response is not exactly encouraging ("some success stories")/ Of course, I will backup those documents just in case

Barbara,

I wish i could give you 100% positive feed back with this particular inquiry but seeing that apple has discontinued apple works for leopard and various systems have slight differences i have to say "some success stories. "

So... back up all your work and files you want to keep and install leopard as a clean install. Do you have new install disks that have been shipped with your computer or is it the upgrade? Just so we can track if apple works is less problematic on clean install or an upgrade from tiger.

Also... try leopard and if Apple works is not working just use tiger until there is a solid solution. I've used both and i still use Tiger as various programs i use are not yet supported on leopard. Tiger is sure and solid.

Keep in touch here if you have further problems.

In answer to your question, I have iBookiG4 with Tiger. When Leopard was issued, I purchased the OS from Mac but have not yet installed Leopard 10.6. So I suppose this what you would call an upgrade from Tiger instead of a clean install.

Thanks so much for your help; very useful.
