i have 2 user accounts set up for myself on my G5, one for work & one for fun, i want to consolidate both itunes libraries so that i can use all songs from either user profile, can i do this? or how do i set up one user to share all my files?

Sure. You can put both iTunes music folders in /Users/Shared and then use File Buddy to compare their contents for duplicates. Once you clean up and eliminate the duplicates, you can pick one of the folders to be the only music folder. Open iTunes and tell it in its preferences where to find your library (in that folder). Now, you can drag all the music from the second music folder into iTunes to consolidate.

Alternatively, depending on how much music, you can import one music folder into the other's library in iTunes (having stuffed it in Shared first) and then root out the duplicates with iTunes View > Show Duplicates command.

You have lots of experience, so let me know whether I've lost you somewhere.
