So is this normal? I delete something, it goes to the Trash and later I want to undelete it because I have no idea which folder it came from. But the undo command is gone. Command_Z doesn't work any more. ??? Does it only work for a few minutes?

Hi Robin

It only works until you do something else on the machine.

Is there any way of using Terminal or some 3rd party app that can undelete the file? How is one supposed to remember where perhaps hundreds of files went that were accidentally deleted? I just tried Path Finder. While there was no undelete command available, at least one can cut/move from the Trash. I wonder why Apple makes the Trash in Finder so awkward? Maybe Leopard will wake up in that area.

Unix systems aren't very friendly about trashed items.
