Hi, I try to share a burner, but the first mac don't seee it in the second mac .
I use Toast 6 on a G3 and toast 7 on a G4 where there is the burner of cd/dvd.
It is to make bigs Backs-up on DVD. And the burner is in the tower of G4 not FW ext.
So i try with the actived share on both Macs via Toast and nothing.
In the preffs. the share for files between the macs in check to.
I don't know what to do now.
Can you give me a hit ?
Thank in advance.

Hi Gerry -

You can share files in this manner, but not devices themselves. For example if you have a CD or DVD with files already burned on it, and you share it, you'll have access to those *files* on the second machine, but not the device itself. If you wish to use the DVD burner, you need to run Toast on the machine on which it is installed.

One suggestion might be to make a shared folder on the G4, and if you want to backup files on your G3, copy them to the share on the G4 and then burn from there.

Hope that helps.
