I have a Mac G5 with Panther 10.3.9
I am brand new to Macs (6 months) and in my 50s so please don't make this too technical!

I want to use the TT converter for fonts. I have downloaded version 1.5 many times, and it seems to be the only version out there. Every time I click on it to open, I get the message "Classic cannot find a Mac OS 9 system folder on the start up disk to use. You may need to install Mac OS 9.1 or later on your computer. To select a system folder on another volume, click Open Classic Preferences."

I can either click Open Classic Preferences or click on Quit.

When I click on Open Classic Preferences, I get the message "No Classic system folder. You do not have a version of of Mac OS 9 installed that supports Classic. Install Mac OS 9.1 or later."

As I understand it, Classic is the older version replaced by OSX. These messages make me believe that there is no TT converter for Panther or later. Is that true or I am doing something wrong?

Please tell me how to get the TT Converter to work on my system. Thanks so much.

Hi Cheryl,

As you're running OS X you don't need to convert anything to use True Type format fonts - just double-click the font file in the Finder and Mac OS X's own (and excellent) font management utillity, Font Book, will automatically install the font after previewing it for you.
To access to Font Book to administer or trash fonts go to Mac HD/Applications/Font Book
