TICKET ARCHIVE -> Unable to Delete Dowloaded Item From Desktop

Hi,

I have a ibook which i run on osx. 2 days ago i downloaded a few graphics using internet explorer as my browser. some of them dowloaded properly however others have not. i have tried moving and deleting them but am unable to . when i try to do anything with them it tells me :

Preparing move to "Trash". the item is being used by another task right now. try again whenthe other task is complete.

Problem is of course that i am not using it in any other task!!!! What can I do, please help ?!?!?!?!?

Open Internet Explorer's Download manager. If the files are still listed, delete them from the Download manager's list. Then see if you can delete them. If not, then go to The XLab FAQs for their FAQ on problematic Trash removal.

i deleted the files from the download manager as suggested, but was still unable to delete them from my desktop. the link provided as an alternative is not working, keep getting: page not found as response. please help!!!!

thanks so much! i downloaded trash it and cocktail, trash it gave me trouble when i tried installing it so i went to cocktail and it worked wonderfully! my incompleted downloads are now gone from my desktop!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!
