Hi!
I will be very grateful if you can help me to resolve this issue! Recently whilst "multi-tasking" a few graphics and video apps, was also running Limewire, when Limewire crashed and finder froze. i had to force quit and restart to regain control of the operating environment.
When i double-clicked the limewire icon it would bounce in the dock a couple of times but fail to actually launch.
I tried restarting, went through repair permissions, but same thing. I tried deleting all references to limewire ( the app, preference files, anything else i could find searching by 'lime', 'gnutella', etc), downloaded the mac osx installer from the limewire site and apparently successfully installed it. But when i clicked the icon, same thing, it bounces a couple of times but doesn't actually start up. I repeated this a few times, ie trying to uninstall, download, reinstall, but same thing every time.
I eventually went PRO, and downloaded the upgraded version from the download page that limewire sent me. Same thing again..still...
Have also written to Limewire support but they don't give any guarantee of a response.

confident, but still learning (aren't we all?) - can follow instructions
Hi Kim
We really don't support P2P apps, because they're mainly used for obtaining software, MP3's illegally.
This is one of the rules of Macosx.com.
But I will tell you that Limewire is avery bad app. I've seen this program cause a lot of damage to systems. I wouldn't put it on my machine.
Go to
http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx
search for 'Sharing' and 'P2P' and you'll find a number of programs you can use.
I've heard Acquisition works ok.
