I recently upgraded to OS X Tiger. Once fully installed, I realized that I could no longer access my Sony DV camera via firewire (it worked fine before the upgrade). I have tried discontecting all external devices and unplugging the power from the machine for a few minutes and then just plugging the camera in by itself and that did not help. I have also tried resetting the parameter ram and that also did not help.
The frusytrating thing is that the Firewire section of system profiler sees the camera perfectly well. Have you ever seen this issue before? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

well, lets dig into this a little more. what programs are you using to detect the cam? iMovie? what model / year is your mac? have any known 3rd party QuickTime codecs? Do you have QT Pro or just basic?

Hi Thanks for your response. I am running a Digital Audio G4. It originally had a 733 Mhz processor but has been upgraded to a Dual 1.2 GHz PowerLogix QS 7457.
I run Quicktime Pro (7.0.4) and use my camera with Digital Performer, IMovie, Quicktime, IChat, Quicktime Broadcaster, and Final Cut Pro. All of these programs were working before the upgrade to Tiger. As far as I know, I do not have any third party codecs installed.
