Your 12-inch PowerBook has one memory slot, which can use a 1GB chip. You have 256MB permanently on the logic board. So, the maximum is 1.25GB

You could upgrade to the maximum capacity 2.5-inch hard drive, which for your ATA drive currently is 160GB

It's not possible to upgrade your G4 to a G5

Hi there. Thanks for the response.

Which one should ideally be upgraded first? The RAM or har drive? I mostly use my laptop for graphics (SketchUp, CorelDraw) and video editing (iMovie etc).

The memory is simple - take 4 screws out on small panel on the bottom, and the memory slot is right there.

I would suggest you pay someone to replace the hard drive. Or, if you just need more storage, add an external firewire drive, and simply plug that in.
