I have an IMAC G5 20" that is currently running 10.3.9 with 756 gig ram. I have purchased the new OS X Leopard and have tried to install it/upgrade but I keep getting an error message that states that it cannot find OS X 10.4 or higher. I did alot of research on this prior to purchasing the new OS and everything I read advised that an upgrade between these two was possible. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There's two different types of Leopard client install disks.
Look at your Leopard install disk...
Does it say 'drop-in upgrade' on the label? If yes, then you can't use that disk to install Leopard on a 10.3.9 system. It requires Tiger pre-installed, and was provided for a very small fee ($10 or less, or free) with the purchase of new Macs shortly after the release of Leopard. It is meant to be a 'drop-in' included in the box so new owners could easily upgrade to Leopard. The operating system has to be installed already, and it must be 10.4, or higher.
You have a Leopard install that you can't use....
