After upgrading from 10.4.11 to Leopard, several USB devices will no longer show up. For example, a phone (Blackberry Pearl) will show the message (on the phone) "insufficient USB power to charge device," and the device will neither mount nor sync. Under Tiger, the same phone works fine. Other USB devices also do not show up (but some do).

In searching the internet, this seems to be a problem faced by others as well. I cannot find a solution.

Robert,

Thanks for using www.macosx.com!

I'm curious as to the other types of USB devices that aren't working correctly. I experience a similar problem when I upgraded, but after re-installing the drivers for the devices, that fixed most of my problems.

You may find that certain devices may not yet be Leopard-compatible. Check with Blackberry's website to see if they have an upgraded driver for Leopard. Leopard made a lot of changes to the System that Tiger didn't have. Thus, what worked for Tiger won't always work with Leopard.

Run a Permissions Repair in the Disk Utility program and then check to see if updated drivers are out there. I hope this helped!
