TICKET ARCHIVE -> Using a Mustek 1200ub Scanner In Osx 10.4

I have a Mustek 1200UB Scanner from a few years ago when I used to have a regular windows PC.

I am unable to "see" it in OSX 10.4 (i.e. does not mount when connected via USB) nor is it possible to acquire images via Image Capture (no devices detected).

I think that Mustek only support the scanner with a Classic driver which does not seem to help within OSX, and the only other program out there which I think helps in providing the drivers is VueScan (which does not support Mustek scanners!).

Is there anyway for me to get this scanner working in OSX, or is the technology behind it just too different?

I confirm that my MUSTEK scanner is now working within IMAGE CAPTURE (in OSX 10.4.2) after installing the various SANE libraries, binaries etc.

For your own info, the installation process is fairly straightforward, but there is a lot of reading on the SANE website to make sure that you install the necessary files relevant to your system and scanner etc, and also that the various binary files are installed in the correct order for the whole thing to work.

Nevertheless, it was well worth the effort and it works correctly.
