Hello,

I have ordered a G5 iMac,
I was wondering if there is a kind of EXTERNAL VIDEO CARD? I use my mac for email, work, and internet, but i wish to amuse myself aliitle with on game which requires:

1.2 GHz or faster G4/G5 processor
Mac OS X v10.3.8 or later
256MB RAM minimum
3GB free hard-disk space
32MB VRAM minimum
Radeon 9000 or later (ATI) or GeForce FX5200 or later video card
DVD drive

My problem is the G5 Imac has : ATI Radeon X600 XL with 128MB DDR Video Memory

How can I work this out?

Thanks

The short answer is, you can't. In terms of video, the iMac is not a great gaming machine, although the ATI Radeon X600 XL card is faster than the Radeon 9000 or GeForce FX5200, so you may be OK. Why don't you take your game CD to a local Apple Store or reseller and play it? If it plays acceptably, that's great. If not, if you still have the option, cancel the order and buy a single or dual processor Powermac G5, which gives you the option of a better video card that will exceed your game's requirements.
