OS Version: MacOS 8
Description:
I have a couple of new 300mhtz G3s connected to a mac server 7250. I am trying to open some Quark files that were created in version 3.32 and I can not open in 4.0 The messages I get are "Out of memory [-108]", "Bad file format [70]", and "This document cannot be opened by this version of QuarkXpress [17]" I have tried opening it in an old version of Quark and it won't work. I ran VirusScan 2.0 on these files and it says "The resource fork of this file is damaged or in an unknown format. It cannot be checked." Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank You.

Kim,
No virus. It just means the file is damaged. BUT -- I've checked a couple of simple Quark documents here, and they do _not_ have a resource fork at all. They were created by 3.11. What does Norton Disk Doctor say about these files?
I would attempt to extract the data fork using for instance BBEdit, and try to open this reconstructed file.
