Hi Cynthia. Welcome to No Wonder! To answer your question, i'm pretty sure that the imac does not come with any virus software pre-installed. It does seem a little strange that it doesn't. : )

For information on software and hardware specifications enter this address into your Location or URL box on your browser:

www.apple.com/imac/specs.html

The software that does come with the imacs if bought from the Apple Store and most places is:

—AppleWorks
—Microsoft Internet Explorer
—Microsoft Outlook Express
—Netscape Navigator
—Adobe PageMill
—EarthLink TotalAccess*
—EdView Internet Safety Kit, Family Edition
—FAXstf
—Quicken for Macintosh Deluxe 98
—Kai’s Photo Soap SE
—World Book Macintosh Edition
—Nanosaur
—Williams-Sonoma Guide to Good Cooking

Some stores might be willing to throw some virus software in for free if you ask them. After all, you are buying a computer! There are a number of good virus packages available. I recommend Virex by Network Associates Inc. or Norton AntiVirus by Symantec.

www.macvirus.com has a great deal of information about viruses, software, etc. including reviews.

Good luck and thanks for using No Wonder!

Best, Jeff
