Hi

I am using MAC OSX 10.3.5. I have created a dial-up account, whcih works fine by itself., and i have created a PPTP VPN connection which works fine when used with the dial-up account...the problem I am having is that once VPN is connected, i can no longer browse the web. If I were using Windows XP I would un-check "Use Default Gateway on Remote Network", but I have no idcea where to find a similar option on the Mac - ormaybe it's a different problem entirely???

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Simon.

Hi Simon,

I'm guessing you're using Apple's Internet Connect for the VPN connection. Here's how you can solve the issue:

In 'Internet Connect" select the VPN you want to use, then go to the "Connect" menu and select the "Options" from the menu. Now you see a drop-down menu appearing with the following options:

* Disconnect when switching user-accounts
* Disconnect when user logs out
* Send all traffic over VPN Connection

Now uncheck the "Send all traffic over VPN Connection" option and click on "OK" (now you probably will be prompted for your Administrator password).

When you start the VPN connection, you should now be able to also surf the web using your (ISP) dial-up connection.

I hope this solves your problem, please keep me informed.

Kind regards,

Rishy
