Good Morning.

In my office we work in a Windows environment. At home it's all Mac. When I travel it's also Mac.

At home and when travelling I access my office email using Microsoft Web Access.

However, I find that my messages don't display properly.

The email message doesn't fit the screen. If there's a lot of text it extends well beyond the right hand edge of the screen. i.e. there's no wrap on the right hand side. It doesn't become one long line, but it does extend well beyond the right hand edge.

Similarly, when I open attachments they don't fit to the screen, again extending beyond the right hand side.

I didn't have this with my previous employer, but then their IT guy knew what he was doing!!!

I'm unsure if it's settings on my Macs or on the server.

Thanks

Stephen

Microsoft doesn't seem to have a Mac application that directly does what you are describing. Are you using an app to access your mail directly, or simply going to a web page through your internet browser?

Word wrap, or line wrap is not displaying properly. That may be a setting in a menu, or the preferences of the software that you are using. Or, if you are just using web-mail access to your mail, then there may be user settings on that web-mail page that allow you to change the 'wrap' settings.

You could just select all the message text, then copy and paste into Text Edit, or some other text editor. That will allow you to easily read the text, but is several steps to get there! Ok for a couple of e-mails, but not very practical if you have dozens (or hundreds!) to review.
Hope this helps you!

I believe the program in use on the Server side is Micorsoft Webaccess. I log in through my browser - Safari - to the email server in the office. I can't see anything in the preferences menu in Safari that would appear to address this issue. Can you make any suggestions. I'm using Safari 2.0.4.

Your solution works, but as you say not on a regular basis.

I used to use Internet explorer for the Mac, but that forced me to download every attachment to disk - again not satisfactory.

The settings for MS web access would not be in the menus for Safari, but you may have settings of some kind on the web page itself.
If not, then the settings are probably in the server side. Maybe your IT support can find someone that can help you. Try not telling them you have a Mac, just tell them your problem, and see if you get any change...
