I have been attempting to communicate with my parents via web cam. I have an imac G5 running with Tiger, and I use isight. My parents have a pc running windows XP Home and they have a logetech camera. After extensive research and a lot of trial and error we have been using a program called sightspeed. It works, but the picture quality on both ends is terrible. This is important to us because they really enjoy seeing and chatting with our daughter. Sound works some times, sometimes not. We have tried AIM (garbage), MSN (no video,mac), Yahoo (no video, mac), and several other little programs that all have terrible picture/sound quality. Is there anything out there yet to bridge this gap?? Is there anything I can do!!?? Please advise, I am open to anything. Would running virtual pc work? I feel that it would not.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt
You should be able to use iChat on the Mac and AIM on the PC. I talk to several people a few times a week that are on PC's using AIM and have no problems. Both sound and video are good, as long as the machines are on high speed connections.
You can also use ISPQ on both machines;

Thanks Bob. Is there any way to enlarge the picture for the AIM user? That was my Dad's biggest gripe with AIM. I will look into ISPQ.
Thanks again,
Matt
