Hi! I am almost done with my website, which as of now I intend to upload to Dreamhost for hosting. I like the support they've given me so far, they've been great about answering my questions.

I want to set up my website, though, so that users can download music, video and possibly a pdf document via a PayPal payment. They would make a payment, then download the file.

Dreamhost has a script called FilesForever, but the way that works is that users make a credit card payment, then can download the file as many times as they want forever. I don't think people will want to send their credit card information over the internet just to download a 99. cent song, or 2 dollar video, do you? I think they would be more comfortable using Paypal.

I am thinking more of an iTunes kind of setup, where you make a PayPal payment and then download the tune.

I know we could do it in a way that once they make the payment, i send them a link... but that isn't great, because I would need to send out a link for every .99 cent payment, and people aren't going to want to wait to access their music. They want it now.

So I want to set things up so that once they have made the PayPal payment, an email link is automatically sent to them, and that link opens up in a download page, like I have done on the internet, with demo songs, for example.

Can you help me do this?

Thanks so much!

Hi Christopher

The best thing would be to read through this PayPal page for payment info, check the 'Buy Now Button';

Thanks. I contacted Paypal, and verified how to use the BUy It Now button. The instructions include copying the HTML for this feature into my website though. Since i use iWeb to create my website, will this mean I need to create a page in RapidWeaver or Dreamweaver? I don't think iWeb could do this. I have iWeb enhancer though, maybe i can use this to copy in the HTML and create this page? Does iWeb Enhancer allow you to do this? Thanks so much.

Christopher

I can't help with the HTML.
Post a separate question about that, or post in our forums for maybe a quicker answer from someone.
