I have just got a MacBook, so there's lots that new! I have tried to watch a short video clip (on the What Car site) and got a message that I lacked a MIME plug in. What is it, what are they, and how do sort it out??? Am I going tohave lots of issues like this?

Well honey the Mac does take some paying attention to. Depends on what you call "issues like this."Was Windows such a dream?

Plugin are one of the easiest issues. You don't need much more than QuickTime; if it didn't come on your machine, you can get it at Apple.com. Then you configure it in one of its panels, in System Preferences.

It can get fancier. WMV by Flip4Mac (pay) allows Quicktime to handle any Windows media (better than Windows can) ... and Perian is a terrific free component that allows QT to play Flash (FLV) videos - the youtube kind.

Read a little? Lots of help in Help and in Apple Discussions.
