What is the best wireless router to use with the MacBook Pro I am about to order?

Airport Extreme. It's the side of the power adapter block, and handles wireless printing and iTunes too.

Using all-Apple is my preference al-ways, however, user reviews of the AirPort Extreme on the Apple Store website are often very poor. Do you recommend ignoring the reviews and buying one, and will you help me if I buy one and need advice?

I, too, would recommend AirPort Extreme, and that you read reviews elsewhere, such as Macworld. Second to Apple's device, go with Linksys, preferably an 802.11 router with detachable/replaceable antennas.
Of course, whatever product you choose, you'll get support here.
