I have a series of wierd things happening. It 1st began when I would try to drag files or folders from one location to another and they would not allow the drag to be finished. An example would be dragging files from one hard drive to another and the files would be deposited on the desktop instead. Second part was when emptying the trash, the files would show being deleted then the number of files being deleted would show back up in the window and hang for 30 seconds to a minute before being shown as deleted. I then rebooted to the disk warrior application disk to see if there was a problem. It reported the directory was too severely damaged for repair. I then tried to boot from my edrive in techtool pro and it would not launch. It is located on a different drive. When checking with techtool, I got the same response as with disc warrior, but stating there was a problem with interleaves and unreparable. Rebooted from the system disk to use the disk utility with the same results. I made the decision to reinstall everything from scratch to a different drive. The main difference this time was that I have the Adobe CS and CS2 suites installed at the same time. Th problems I had on the initial drive are now starting to appear again on the new drive. Any hints?

So you're saying you a)erased the disk, b)reformatted the disk, c) reinstalled 10.x using your original install disks d)upgraded to whatever version of 10.x you're using e)reinstalled all your third party applications from their CDs/DVDs and upgraded them as well (Adobe CS and CS2 have multiple upgrades since they were issued)? Please let me know if that's what you did, and then I might be able to sort things out. Having such major directory corruption repeat itself would be exceptionally rare if you did all the above. If you reformatted the disk after erasing it, any bad sectors should have been mapped out.
Thanks.

Yes, I did as you repeated in response. I normally can sort these things out myself but this one has me stumped. A few additions to the originally submitted info. I have found that an ap called QuickKeys was causing some problems. I have now deleted it and system response has picked up a small amount. It was on the original disk. I still have the original disk withh full OS and aps on my desktop. I did this to still be active while re-installing everything to the new drive. Could I be getting a conflict between the two operating systems, even though only one is active and they are on two different drives? After installing the new OS on the new drive, I checked everything on Disk Warrior and all was fine. About halfway thrtough the install of my aps and data, I checked again and did get some corruption which I repaired. After finishing, I checked again and there was some corruption again but very minor. Once again I repaired. Have checked two more times since then and all has been fine. In addition, I have noticed that when running actions in Photoshop or Illustrator, when I try to open or use another ap at the same time, Photoshop or Illustrator will quit. I am wondering if Having Adobe CS1 and CS2 suites installed at the same time is causing a conflict? Have you heard any reports about this? I did not have them both installed on the original disc.

Quick note. The original disk with the problems is still untouched on the computer. I reformatted/clean installed on a separate brand new hard drive.
