TICKET ARCHIVE -> windows media still out-osx 10.3.4 emacg4

i downloaded a windows media attachment and it defaulted to the vlc player and had sound but no picture.the vlc isnt even working right ..i dont think.but first things first..windows media.my audio wont make sound on the windows media but the wmp boots up when i play an mp3 .i havent a clue how to fix this..i never had an issue like this before.help!!..thanks benny

Reinstall the latest version of WMP and vlc; that may be all you need to do. Also, delete the prefs file for those two apps from your Preferences folder.

No luck with vlc or Flip4Mac-or both? Have you tried redownloading the file, perhaps it's corrupt?

tried at least 3 times..dont get this at all.
the computer itself is fine.everything is normal/
it has to be some file or preference deeper in the computer then the WMP or VLC itself.or all those other things i tried.it just happened all of a sudden.i know windows stoped anymore upgrading,but why would they stop whats working?.is windows cutting mac off period??

does anyone think reinstalling panther would maybe help with this windows media issue?
at this point im taking a shot in the dark..thanks,Benny
