I have several files that were downloaded previosly in Windows, and due to a recent crash, which has been corrected, I can't seem to enter them. Every time I try to open them I get "Can't be opened without WindowsdialogLib". I use to access them before all the time. Have looked for it online with no success and haven't found anyone who knows anything either. Please help as these are my herbal files I use all the time. Also is there a way to convert them to plain ol' Mac language so I can eliminate the windows files completely? I'm running a iMac 266--OS9.2 (G3) the Ques. profile wouldn't let me enter any info. we'll save that for another day, THANX

Those files might have been corrupted as a result of the crash that you mentioned. 'windowsdialoglib' does not return any results when I try to search for it. Are you sure that is accurate, letter-for-letter?
You may need to download those files again. If you have been using them on a Mac in the past, then a simple download should work without needing a Windows PC to do that task.

My bad----"The Application Microsoftword could not be opened because MicrosoftdialogLib could not be found"..... word for word. I was able to open them before, no other files have been corrupted. Had a similar problem awhile back with carbonlib , and ended up having to locate "carbonlib" version and once I downloaded and added it everything smoothed out. --Dan

I can't find any specific info about that message.
However, when a Microsoft app, such as Word, can't find its own resource files, it can sometimes mean that Word is not in the folder with the rest of the Microsoft Office software. Have you moved the Word app out of the folder where it was originally installed? In that case, try simply moving Word back into its original folder. Or, you should try reinstalling Office from the original disk.
Also, which version of Microsoft Office do you have now?

One more question - in your original post, you were asking to convert Windows docs. Do you really mean that you want to change over from Microsoft Office or Word, to something else? I can be sure that you were not actually using Windows on your old iMac
Let me know what you find out.
