hello, im quite new to to using imac after years of experience with windows.

i was wondering if it is possible to interact with other users over a LAN network. i have 3 computers on this LAN.

1. Main computer - WINDOWS XP - direct link to modem.

2. Computer - WINDOWS XP - Also Direct link to modem

3. MY iMac G5 OSX - WIRELESS airport connection.

The modem has a in-built router and wire-less (which is where i am getting my connection from.)

On the two computers with WINDOWS i have managed to TURN ON net sending but i dont know how to on the iMac G5.

Is there any sort of program which enables it. or can anybody tell me how to be able to send quick messages between computers.

ALSO HOW TO FILE-SHARE!!!!!!

thanks alot.

Hi Bryceee

IP Messenger is the only thing I could for for messaging between PC and Macs on a local network;

You could also use AIM on a PC and iChat on the Mac.

For file sharing, setup the sharing on the PC, on the Mac go to the Sharing PreferencePane and turn on File Sharing and Windows Sharing. Then use the Go Menu.Conncet to Server. Click browse and you should see the Windows shares.
