Hello Maralyn

You need an adapter for the printer... like one of these

http://www.usbgear.com/USB-Printer-Adapters.html

Hope that helps some

At least I think that is what you require if I have not misunderstood the question

Are you suggesting I ditch the Linksys printserver and purchase a mac equivalent? Linksys support suggests that with the IP address of their printserver that certain Mac "portals" can be opened to make the linksys work. Do you know what he was talking about? Thanks.

Let's start over.
I want to explain what you can and can't do. We can probably get the Epson to work via the print server (I will need the model rather than the part number, so I can download/read the manual). However, you won't be able to use the Epson-provided driver, because it was written for USB only. You will have to use a Gutenprint driver, because the Gutenprint driver is a CUPS driver - needed for "standard" TCP/IP printing, because the the network printing protocols built into OS X are part of CUPS. You should experiment while connected by USB with selecting a Gutenprint driver and try printing to see how it is different.

On the other hand, buying a mac-oriented print server (Airport Express, and one or two other models out there - not what serenak linked to, though), Mac OS X driver software "redirects" USB output to the USB port on the print server, so you CAN use the Epson driver, just like for Mac-to-Mac print sharing.

Sorry this is so complicated, but that's the way Apple has made it for now (they are moving toward all CUPS drivers - but not in 10.5).
