i'm trying to download xpod v 1.3.6 because my hard drive failed and i had to get it replaced. i need my songs back on my computer from my ipod but when i downloaded it, it comes up on my desktop as xpod.sit and when i click it it asks what program i want to use to open it. how can i open the program?

A .sit file is an Stuffit archive, the most used compression utility on Macs.
On panther and previous OS, StuffitExpander, the free tool to expand such archive, was in the OS. No longer is the case in Tiger, for which you have to download (and install) thsi free tool from here:
